Description

Note: there are ways to bury a contract so that you don’t eat up cap space, without buying that payer out. If montreal needed to, there could do this with alzner. The reason I put him in LTIR is because I do not have access to their function, and I wanted to get a good idea how much cap space there is.

I have also done this with byron as he represents a trade piece along with domi. Not saying these two would be moved, but if the habs signed hoffman/hall they could afford to send domi out and bring contracts with him to clear cap space to a team like buffalo or in a three way trade to any team that wanted domi (ie conditions for getting domi are that you get rid of our contracts, and we’ll take a pick instead of another good player)

He has to be hurt to go on LTiR and because of insurance doctors verify it... this won't work but He is now only owed 5 million total for 2 years... so if montreal retains I mill per season don't you think teams like Ottawa and Detriot will line up to get him for 1.5 mil a year.... he is good defensively and good in the room... and then we get him off the book with less cap space retained than if you bought him out.Alzner is still an NHl defensman but he just has too big a cap hit.. it is like Ryan.. watch he will get gobble up fAST NOW THAT HE IS BOUGHT OUT..
