With the pandemic going nowhere. There has been some chatter of realigned divisions and schedules. For example, there's been talk of an all Canadian division that spends the season playing each other, due to Canadian border regulations. I think you would see the NHL do a modified schedule like the MLB is doing. For example the RW division plays itself and the RD division and the C and LD divisions would play. There's no real perfect way to go about this but it would limit travel
Not sure what to think about this, but I'd add STL to the LD division you have. That gives all US divisions 6 teams instead of 5 - 6 - 6 - 7. Interesting to think about at least, but I don't see this happening.

I second this. The problem with this schedule is that canadian teams have to travel a tone lol, but if we have to change division temporarily, I can live with this.

It was Chris Johnston of Sportsnet that mentioned it as the possibility and honestly it's not that far fetched. MLB wasn't allowed to have games in Toronto this year, I can't really see why the NHL would be an exception. Hopefully things improve and we don't have to do this
