That's a really weak return for Gaudreau. Andersson is a disappointment, and I'm not a believer in his offensive upside, and Brett Howden was one of the worst players in the league this year. Then add In Strome, who is a good player, but one who will be looking for a big contract coming off a career year.

Add on that Stromes biggest weakness is his skating and thats already Monahan's biggest flaw. Overall this trade makes Calgary significantly worse and doesnt even set them up for the future.
If you break it down it looks lime this:
Zavgorodyn > Howden
Ryan > Andersson
Gaudreau > Strome and a mid/late 1st
