Staal retires - Re-sign the big boys

Pssst that Strome contract is borderline disaster and NYR should sell high on him asap. Fast getting 4 years is silly, dont give term to replacable depth. Yea he is a fan favorite but is also a dime a dozen. Playing him in the top 6 should be considered a crime. Hajek needs to be moved out not up.

It looks to me like Strome has finally found his game. IDK that you'd give him 4 years. I'd take him to arbitration and give him what comes from that on a 2/3 year deal and see if he earns himself another raise when you get Hank and the bad contracts off the books. I'm sure bread man will make anyone good, but I don't see a reason to break up a good thing and reshuffle the line. We don't have many center prospects and the ones we have aren't too promising.

I don't think we need Kreider enough to justify paying him what he's projected to be going for. Maybe we trade him to CAR For Nino with a Kreider extension in hand? Idk. Just spit balling.
