Ducks could do better than Carlo in a Rakell trade. Carlo is actually significantly worse than Manson in even strength Corsi this year and throughout his career. He’s younger than Manson but I don’t see the potential to be any better than him.
Idk enough about Beecher but looking at his numbers it looks like he struggled at the WJC and so far at Michigan.
Personally I just think there’s a better D to be had if Rakell is being moved.
Fair. I think Manson has been poor this year and he wasn't that great last season. Maybe I am undervaluing him and overvaluing Carlo. I kind of view them as equivalent players, but believe that Carlo has more to bring given his age. It was just a thought. I have concerns about our back-end and don't really see a standout option via the draft. Moreover, I think we need a franchise forward or at least another potentially elite 1C option.
Thanks for the feedback though. Always appreciated!

So you want to trade a top 6 F and a top pairing D, both entering their prime in the next couple of seasons, for a top 4 D, a cap dump, a late 1st, and a B prospect? No chance Anaheim takes this.
Well, Manson isn't a top pairing D. He's a top 4 that has good chemistry with Lindholm, who is a legit top pairing D-man. Manson is 28 years old, so he's already in his prime years, not just entering, and he's not exactly been that great recently. He's certainly not the Manson from a couple seasons ago. Rakell is a quality player and worth a tonne, especially given his sweetheart contract. Maybe the value is off because I am overvaluing Carlo. It's just hard to find good quality D-men and he ticks a lot of boxes i.e. young, big, good mobility, etc.
