He was on the shortlist. He was productive, for sure (in large part because of the players who got the puck to then net like Briere). But I don't think he was anywhere near as talented as Briere.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. Andreychuk was a compiler, I would take him on any team but not as a first line player. Luce and ramsay belong on any sabres all time team, I would place them with peca and have one fantastic two way line. Put eichel with lafontaine and mogilny for a real #1 line, and leave the French connection together (Robert might have trouble making this team on his own merits, but meh, it's the French connection). That leaves hawerchuk centering gare and andreychuk. so turgeon and briere get bumped and vanek still misses the cut. Our defense is going to be weak, we just don't have great d. Korab, playfair, zhitnik, these are guys that miss the cut here, but the team isn't necessarily better with them. Dahlin is interesting, just based on his draft spot he should be on the team at some point. Barrasso and Miller are a coin flip for me, but goalie really hasn't been a problem, you have guys like Edwards and sauve that shared a vezina.
