Seems like we're going the "Keep AAV low by throwing tons of term" route for our UFAs, so an eight year contract extension for Pietrangelo could keep his AAV lower. I used the McAvoy contract as a comparable for Dunn and assumed that Blais has a good run in the top 6 this year (admittedly based on only one game so far this season) to give him a good bridge deal. One of Sanford/Fabbri/Blais will likely have to go this offseason as there is just no roster spots available unless all three of them beat out Kostin/Kyrou next year, which seems unlikely. I kept Sanford over Fabbri simply because he was already under contract, but it could be either going to Edmonton. Preferably whoever's season goes better stays here.
My thoughts for the trades: Edmonton needs wingers and most likely a better goalie, but we can revisit that trade later this year once we see how Koskinen and Smith do. Colorado, Arizona, and NYI are all teams that could use a little center depth, and there's the cap space to retain a little salary on Bozak if necessary. I chose Colorado because I like them and I think Bozak would be a good fit on that younger team, but there's a few teams that are competitive that could use him for one year.
2021 Expansion Draft based on this plan: Tarasenko, O'Reilly, Thomas, Kyrou, Schenn, Barbashev/Sundqvist, Blais/Schwartz (Schwartz is a UFA so could potentially be sneaky and wait to sign him until after the draft to protect another player) Pietrangelo, Dunn, Parayko, Binnington (who is also in the same situation as Schwartz)
