Description
These moves get the Rangers under the cap now and help continue the rebuild as the trade deadline approaches. Rangers should be vastly improved but still don't have enough fire power to make any realistic run in the playoffs so they should keep adding young talent while moving players they don't see as fitting in long term.

Kreider plays most of the season as 2LW but gets replaced by Tolvanen at the deadline.

Détails additionnels:
Rangers retain $1,500,000

Oilers: Get a solid role player that they can plug anywhere in the lineup at a decent price for Puljujarvi and a throw in prospect.

Rangers: Take a chance on a Finnish player that can help Kakko transition to the league and perhaps play well with a fresh start. They also dump some cap space

Détails additionnels:
*Trade Deadline Move*
Rangers retain $2,000,000

Predators: Acquire a legit power left winger to make a Stanley Cup run at a cheap price and a decent LHD prospect. Nashville can also extend Kreider if they can make some cap room in 2020. They also get an extra 3rd rounder in 2021.

Rangers: Continue the rebuild with a great LW prospect to replace Kreider whom they have no intentions of extending. They also replace the 2nd round pick in the 2020 deep draft that they will most likely lose in the Adam Fox trade to Carolina.

Couple things.

Edmonton is going to want more, even with us retaining some of Vlad's cap hit. Throw in a 2021 2nd and get rid of Day who at this point is nothing more then an AHL dman.

I highly doubt Nashville gives up their best prospect let alone their 2nd round pick (as you said deep draft) for a half of season with Kreider, knowing full well he will most likely walk in FA.

Also what's your plan with Strome and Fast who also will be FA's at seasons end. Best to get value now for guys who prob won't factor into our future don't ya think?

Strome is going to be a rfa at seasons end. he is a good two way player. he fits in well with the future of the team. why trade him? the rangers cant have only kids playing on the team.

I'm not sure where your getting hes a "good" two-way player being the guys advanced stats are not good. He doesn't drive play, cant suppress shots and played and plays extremely little PK time because hes not a strong enough skater to get in the correct lanes. Not to mention he will be eligible for arbitration which will not bold well if he has a 40+ point season which he was on track for.

It's virtually impossible for him to shoot 21% again so I think he comes back to earth. Trading sooner rather then later would benefit our return on the deal. Not moving him and him becoming what he was for most of his time with the Islanders and Edmonton hurts us big time.
