Ceci just can't be flipped unless there is somebody to take his place. And you math is wrong. Let's say Ceci is traded at game 41...Leafs have already paid half his or 2.25m, and 2.25m remains So the Leaf annual cap saving is 2.25 minus half the annual cap saving of his replacing. Is it really worth flipping him for 1.4m in cap saving? Certainly not a 4.5m cap saving
