Description
I mentioned in a previous post that, if the alleged expansion draft rules are confirmed, a d-men sellout is about to open. There will be lots of top-4 youngsters available, and not much teams to take them on. For a team with so few untouchables like the Habs, it will be perfect time to go bargain shopping – and find a suitable heir to Markov.

I was suggesting that the Habs go after Ekholm, but if the asked price if too hefty, perhaps Snow might think that DeHaan for Emelin and a 3rd rounder is a fair deal, no?

Nice moves, I think as long as we get Okposo, we win. Either of the 2 young D-men you suggested would be great. I would think Beaulieu has got to be one of those young D-men that we also can't secure.

Would you be of the mind that we should draft a forward instead of a D-man with our 9th overall choice? Given that young d might be easier to pick up?

I'm thinking that the Habs should protect 4D (incl. Beaulieu) and 4F (Patches, the Gallies and Okposo). In any case, I would definitely draft a F (Jost, Brown, McLeod, Keller, whoever is available). It will soon be easy to nab a good young LD at a discount price.
