Not sure that gets you Tyson Barrie. Add in Johnsson and lose the pick coming back, maybe. You just want to do that trade post-July 1st to negotiate an extension. I hate the idea of Nylander playing centre, it weakens two lines.

I agree with that 2nd statement, but it would be either Nylander or Kadri. Barrie is obviously more valuable than Barrie, but Barrie is a UFA at seasons end and Kadri has 3 years left at 4.5(steal). I gave up the 2nd but then got the 3rd coming back because if we included contracts, Kadri's is a lot better. This trade would happen after July 1st, because Barrie agrees to the extension and then gets moved. I feel Barrie would work well with Muzzin because Muzzin wouldn't have to carry Zaitsev around and can actually play defense while allowing Barrie to be the QB they need.

I'd be careful about putting Zaitsev and Rielly together. They did not do well together in the past. That's part of the reason Zaitsev got stuck to Gardner. I am fine rolling with Z and Muzz on the 2 pairing next year. Barrie and Rielly is not the best combo but would work. I'd move Connor Brown and then try to acquire a 3C who can help out on the PK and defensively. Pavel Zacha is my personal target.
