Description
On Karlsson's AAV: as it has been reported, if Tampa goes after Karlsson he'll have to take a pay cut. Keep in mind, an $8.5 million annual average in Tampa would net the same amount as $9.5 million in New York (state) and $10.5 million in San Jose, according to nationally-renowned sports tax guru Robert Raiola, the director of sports & entertainment at PKF O’Connor Davies.

Now, this setting would also have the Bolts to be able to manage the 2020 offseason with ease.
Next offseason, Killorn NTC will become a M-NTC (with 16 teams trade list) and will be subsequently traded to free 4.45M. Carle's 1.83M buyout will come off the books.
At this point, Tampa will have around 20M of free cap space (without considering a possible increase of the cap space). And, if more cap is needed - which I heavily doubt -, JT Miller can be shipped out (he holds a M-NTC with a 8 teams no trade list) in order to free up another 5.25M cap space.

Thoughts?

I heard that same thing about Karlsson and I think he would take a bit less to play with his buddy in Tampa on a contending team in a state that has a tax advantage.
I think it might take a bit more to move Callahan but not much and you might get a bit less for Johnson but you're pretty close all in all. I also think Point might want a bit more then $8 but not much more.

Massive overpay for Tampa to move one year of Callahan. No way.

- The Callahan one got me thinking. If we trade away Raddysh with Callahan, both Yzerman and BriseBois will know that he's a great prospect that is in our top 5 propsect in the pipeline. And both Yzerman and BriseBois know that the season after this one, he'll be a NHL player. That's why BriseBois will ask a late pick back (at the very least) as both GMs know the prospect very well and both know he'll be a good NHL player.
But that's my thought process haha, maybe I'm completely off.

- For Pointer I took the Evolving Hockey prediction for a 5 years contract (8.2M) and took away a million dollar total, over the 5 years, as little discount. An acceptable discount if you think about potential of the team, chances of keeping the core together during next offseason and the chance of getting EK65 on the team.
As Stamkos said: “Part of the culture that we have here in Tampa is kind of that team-first mentality, and if you want to keep a good team together, guys are going to have to make little sacrifices along the way,” Stamkos said. “Whether that’s in terms of money or term or ice time or role on the team.

“That was something that — it’s kind of non-negotiable on this team, in terms of doing whatever it takes to help us keep the core together and keep being a productive team. That message was pretty loud and clear early when Steve got here and established himself as a GM, and continued to be that way.”

- And Johnson, I don't know. I feel like general opinions are contraddicting on him: some would pay a decent amount (as he is cost controlled, long term and may have a chance to step things up with a change of scenery) and others would pass on him. I tried to reach some kind of middle ground haha

Yeah, as I just wrote I'm kinda torn: knowing Yzerman, he'd try to get a prospect out of it, but if that's the case a pick will have to go the other way. What pick is now the question

Katchouk and Cally for a 4th at best but if Tampa has to throw in a prospect they might as well just keep Cally for a year.
