What's not to love about Kevin Hayes on a team that rolls 4 lines? He is big, fast and can score. If he'd consider Montreal, they'd have to overpay a bit, but he's affordable without having to mortgage the future.
Callahan waives his no trade on the assurance he will be bought out. That is worth a decent prospect (Katchouk) and is sweetened by Raddysh for the price of two x fourth round picks.
Florida needs to move Reimer and Habs need a reliable backup. Habs move up from 15 to 13 in the 2019 draft and hold the option to swap picks in 2020. Habs get Malgin and FLA gets Olofsson, who's considerably younger and not subject to waivers/expansion.
Carolina needs a bit more speed on the wings and have LHDs to spare. Gauthier and Lernout are both formerly good prospects who are sliding down their respective depth charts. Each would benefit from a change of scenery. Nice to have a Quebec scoring star in Laval.
Low-risk trade for both Colorado and Habs. Colorado gets NHL-ready depth and Habs get more depth at RHD and a French Canadian to watch.
