If Jumbo Joe is going to take a %50 discount it'll be for a true Cup contender, not the Sharks who have always been pretenders. If the Leafs dump Kardi plus others maybe Joe gets reunite with Patty for one last Cup shot with the Leafs.

Joe is not playing for any other team in the NHL outside of the Sharks 100% guaranteed... You can dream for that scenario all you want, but he will take whatever salary is left under the cap to play for the Sharks as long as he wants to play and they will have him. When he either decides to retire or is no longer in SJ's plans, he will retire. If they had signed Tavares last summer, he was willing to play this year for $1 million. Also, lol at a Leafs fan calling another team Cup pretenders...
